After going out two (three?) weeks ago I ended up with the CB radios in
my car. I have tested the radios and found that the big/old blue 'in
car' unit that was mounted on the winch does work, but that the
microphone was duff. I have replaced the microphone. There are missing
segments in the channel display which is a nuisance, but otherwise it is
OK.
The old 'walkie talkie' also seems to work, although I have only tested
it in the garden.
I have bought two CB radios off eBay in the last couple of weeks, (they
are as cheap as chips on eBay) so we should have enough to keep us
going. I think there are two more old 'walkie talkies' in the winch box,
if they don't work, they can be dumped.
